Foods That Detox
When considering detoxifying the body with food you will want fresh fruit and mung beans on your list. Fresh fruit juicing and fasts are excellent in detoxifying the body. This type of cleansing requires you to eat nothing fruit for two or three days in order to accomplish the detox. Some fruits you may want to consider for your detox include: pineapple, grapefruit, apples and water melon. Mung beans are small, green beans which are also useful in detoxifying the body. They are thought to cleanse the heart and are also beneficial to the liver. You may want to note that, Chinese medicine does not recommend the use of mung beans in situations where the person is suffering from symptoms of cold. Mung beans are a good source of Vitamins A, B, C & E, calcium, iron, copper, magnesium, potassium, and amino acids. Mung beans provide 14 grams of protein per cup and are a good source of fiber. For a winning combination I recommend eating these beans with garlic. You can presoak these beans overnight but if you forget don’t panic because mung beans don't need pre-soaking and they don’t give you gas like most beans. INGREDIENTS:
